Satan replied to the Lord,“ Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life.

“ All right, do with him as you please,” the Lord said to Satan.“ But spare his life.”

The rich can pay a ransom for their lives, but the poor won’t even get threatened.

“ All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan.“ Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.

The next day, as gale force winds continued to batter the ship, the crew began throwing the cargo overboard.The following day they even took some of the ship’s gear and threw it overboard.

After eating, the crew lightened the ship further by throwing the cargo of wheat overboard.

When they were safely out of the city, one of the angels ordered,“ Run for your lives! And don’t look back or stop anywhere in the valley! Escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
