“ So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.

At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name.You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.

You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.

And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

“ Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.“ You parents— if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

In those days when you pray, I will listen.

Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.

Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.

Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.Each time he said,“ My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.

Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord.Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.

My heart has heard you say,“ Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds,“ Lord, I am coming.”

Jesus replied,“ If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”

For God says,“ At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the“ right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.

Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for him!”

“ Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail.When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading,‘ Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply,‘ I don’t know you or where you come from.’

He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.

The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.

So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and fasting. I also wore rough burlap and sprinkled myself with ashes.

“ Which of the two obeyed his father?” They replied,“ The first.” Then Jesus explained his meaning:“ I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do.

I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.

Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel:“ Come back to me and live!Don’t worship at the pagan altars at Bethel; don’t go to the shrines at Gilgal or Beersheba. For the people of Gilgal will be dragged off into exile, and the people of Bethel will be reduced to nothing.”Come back to the Lord and live! Otherwise, he will roar through Israel like a fire, devouring you completely. Your gods in Bethel won’t be able to quench the flames.

One night as I lay in bed, I yearned for my lover. I yearned for him, but he did not come.So I said to myself,“ I will get up and roam the city, searching in all its streets and squares. I will search for the one I love.” So I searched everywhere but did not find him.The watchmen stopped me as they made their rounds, and I asked,“ Have you seen the one I love?”Then scarcely had I left them when I found my love! I caught and held him tightly, then I brought him to my mother’s house, into my mother’s bed, where I had been conceived.

Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.”“ Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael.“ Can anything good come from Nazareth?”“ Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied.As they approached, Jesus said,“ Now here is a genuine son of Israel— a man of complete integrity.”“ How do you know about me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied,“ I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.”Then Nathanael exclaimed,“ Rabbi, you are the Son of God— the King of Israel!”

Cornelius stared at him in terror.“ What is it, sir?” he asked the angel. And the angel replied,“ Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering!Now send some men to Joppa, and summon a man named Simon Peter.He is staying with Simon, a tanner who lives near the seashore.”

“ But I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching(‘ deeper truths,’ as they call them— depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you

I opened to my lover, but he was gone! My heart sank. I searched for him but could not find him anywhere. I called to him, but there was no reply.
