哀哉明律士！爾曹奪去知識之管籥、己不願進、亦不容人之進也。』

“你们这假冒为善的文士和法利赛人有祸了！因为你们当着人的面把天国的门关了，自己不进去，要进去的人，你们也不容他们进去。

祭司的嘴唇当守护知识，人也当从他口中寻求训诲，因为他是万军之耶和华的使者。

但为避免这事越发在民间传扬，我们必须威吓他们，叫他们不可再奉这名对任何人讲论。”于是他们叫了两人来，禁止他们，再不可奉耶稣的名讲论或教导人。

于是法利赛人第二次叫了那以前失明的人来，对他说：“你要将荣耀归给神，我们知道这人是个罪人。”那人就回答：“他是不是个罪人，我不知道；有一件事我知道，我本来是失明的，现在我看见了。”他们就问他：“他给你做了什么？是怎么开了你的眼睛？”他回答他们：“我已经告诉你们了，你们不听，为什么又要听呢？难道你们也要作他的门徒吗？”他们就骂他：“你是他的门徒，而我们是摩西的门徒。神对摩西说话是我们知道的，可是这个人，我们不知道他从哪里来。”那人回答，对他们说：“他开了我的眼睛，你们竟不知道他从哪里来，这真是奇怪！我们知道神不听罪人，惟有敬奉神、遵行他旨意的，神才听他。从创世以来，未曾听见有人开了生来就失明的人的眼睛。这人若不是从神来的，什么也不能做。”他们回答他说：“你完全是生在罪中的，还要来教训我们吗？”于是他们把他赶出去了。

于是法利赛人说：“你们也受了迷惑吗？难道官长或法利赛人中有信他的吗？但这些不明白律法的众人是被诅咒的！”其中有尼哥德慕，就是从前去见过耶稣的，对他们说：“不先听本人的口供，查明他所做的事，难道我们的律法还定他的罪吗？”他们回答他说：“你也是出自加利利吗？你去查考就知道，加利利是不出先知的。”〔

律法师中有一个回答耶稣，说：“老师，你这样说也把我们侮辱了。”耶稣说：“你们律法师也有祸了！因为你们把难挑的担子放在别人身上，自己却不肯动一个指头去减轻这些担子。

人群中有几个法利赛人对耶稣说：“老师，责备你的门徒吧！”耶稣回答：“我告诉你们，若是这些人闭口不说，石头也要呼叫起来。”

就叫使徒来，把他们打了，又吩咐他们不可奉耶稣的名讲道，然后把他们释放了。
