禍哉爾教法師乎、因爾奪知識之鑰、爾自不進、有欲進者、爾則阻之、

哀哉明律士！爾曹奪去知識之管籥、己不願進、亦不容人之進也。』

“ Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”

“ How terrible for you authorities on the law! You have taken away the key to the door of knowledge. You yourselves have not entered. And you have stood in the way of those who were entering.”

「經文士和法利賽人哪，你們這些偽善的人有禍了！因為你們在人的面前封閉了天國。你們自己不進去，也不讓正要進的人進去。

祭司的嘴當謹守知識，人當從他口中尋求訓誨，因為他是萬軍之耶和華的使者。」

不過為了避免這事在民間傳揚更廣，讓我們威嚇他們，不可再奉耶穌的名對任何人講話。」於是把他們叫來，吩咐他們絕對不可奉耶穌的名講說或教導人。

他們再次把那原來瞎眼的人叫來，對他說：「你要把榮耀歸給神！我們知道那人是個罪人。」他回答：「他是不是罪人，我不知道。但有一件事我知道：我原來是瞎眼的，現在卻能看見了！」他們問：「他對你做了什麼？怎麼開了你的眼睛？」他回答：「我已經告訴過你們，你們不聽，為什麼現在又想聽呢？難道你們也想成為他的門徒嗎？」他們就辱罵他，說：「你才是那個人的門徒！我們是摩西的門徒！我們知道神對摩西說過話，至於這個人，我們就不知道他是從哪裡來的！」他回答說：「這就奇怪了！他開了我的眼睛，你們竟然不知道他是從哪裡來的！我們知道神是不聽罪人的，然而，如果有人敬畏神、遵行他的旨意，神就垂聽他。自古以來，沒有人聽說過誰開了生來就瞎眼之人的眼睛。那個人如果不是從神而來的，他什麼也不能做。」他們回答他，說：「你完全是生在罪孽中的，還敢教訓我們！」於是把他趕了出去。

法利賽人說：「難道你們也被迷惑了嗎？難道首領或法利賽人中有信他的嗎？這不懂律法的民眾是被詛咒的！」他們當中有一個人，就是原先來到耶穌那裡的尼克迪莫，對他們說：「如果不先聽本人的口供，並且了解他做了什麼，我們的律法就定不了他的罪，難道不是嗎？」他們回答說：「你也不會是加利利人吧？你去查一查看，先知是不會從加利利興起的！」

有一個律法師對耶穌說：「老師，你說這些話，把我們也侮辱了。」耶穌說：「你們這些律法師也有禍了！因為你們使人背負難挑的重擔，但自己卻連一根指頭也不肯碰它們一下。

人群中有一些法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，責備你的門徒吧！」耶穌回答說：「我告訴你們：這些人如果不做聲，石頭都會呼喊起來！」

就叫來使徒們，鞭打了以後，吩咐他們不可再奉耶穌的名講說，然後把他們釋放了。
