为了避免这件事在民间越传越广，我们应该警告他们，不许再奉这名向任何人谈道。”于是叫了他们来，严禁他们再奉耶稣的名讲论教导。

于是法利赛人第二次把那从前瞎眼的人叫来，对他说：“你应当归荣耀给神，我们知道这人是个罪人。”那人回答：“他是不是个罪人，我不知道；我只知道一件事，就是我本来是瞎眼的，现在能看见了。”他们就问：“他向你作了什么呢？他怎样开了你的眼睛呢？”他回答：“我已经告诉你们，但是你们不听；为什么现在又想听呢？你们也想成为他的门徒吗？”他们就骂他，说：“你才是他的门徒，我们是摩西的门徒。我们知道神曾对摩西说话；只是这个人，我们不知道他从哪里来。”那人对他们说：“这就奇怪了，他开了我的眼睛，你们竟然不知道他从哪里来。我们知道神不听罪人的祈求，只听那敬畏神，遵行他旨意的人。自古以来，没有人听过生下来就是瞎眼的，有人可以开他们的眼睛。这人若不是从神那里来的，他就不能作什么。”他们说：“你的确是在罪中生的，还敢教训我们吗？”就把他赶出去。

法利赛人说：“连你们也受了欺骗吗？官长或法利赛人中间有谁是信他的呢？至于这群不明白律法的人，他们是可咒诅的。”他们当中有一个人，就是以前来见耶稣的尼哥德慕，对他们说：“如果不先听取他本人的口供，查明他所作的事，我们的律法怎能把他定罪呢？”他们回答：“你也是从加利利出来的吗？你去考查一下，就知道先知是不会从加利利兴起的。”

律法师中有一个回答他：“老师，你这样说，把我们也侮辱了！”耶稣说：“你们律法师也有祸了，因为你们把难担的担子叫人担，自己连一个指头也不动。

群众中有几个法利赛人对他说：“先生，责备你的门徒吧！”耶稣说：“我告诉你们，他们若不出声，石头都要呼叫了。”

就传使徒进来，鞭打一顿，禁止他们奉耶稣的名传讲，就把他们释放了。
