禍哉爾教法師乎、因爾奪知識之鑰、爾自不進、有欲進者、爾則阻之、

哀哉明律士！爾曹奪去知識之管籥、己不願進、亦不容人之進也。』

“ Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.

For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.

But that it spread no further among the people, let us threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.And they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

So they called a second time the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is a sinner.He therefore answered, Whether he is a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.They said therefore unto him, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?He answered them, I told you even now, and ye did not hear; wherefore would ye hear it again? would ye also become his disciples?And they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.The man answered and said unto them, Why, herein is the marvel, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he opened mine eyes.We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and do his will, him he heareth.Since the world began it was never heard that any one opened the eyes of a man born blind.If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray?Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees?But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed.Nicodemus saith unto them( he that came to him before, being one of them),Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth?They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

And one of the lawyers answering saith unto him, Teacher, in saying this thou reproachest us also.And he said, Woe unto you lawyers also! for ye load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

And some of the Pharisees from the multitude said unto him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples.And he answered and said, I tell you that, if these shall hold their peace, the stones will cry out.

And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles unto them, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
