這是為要向這世代追討那從創世以來所流的眾先知的血，

致創世以來所流先知之血、皆於此代而討焉、

使創世以來、流先知血之罪、將於此代而討焉、

致創世以來、流先知之血、悉將討於此代、

故自有世以來、眾先知所流之血、咸將歸於斯代。」

Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,

So the people of today will be punished. They will pay for all the prophets’ blood spilled since the world began.

流你們的血、害你們生命的，我必向他們追償；無論是走獸或人類，甚至各人自己的兄弟，我必要他償命。流人血的，人也必流他的血；因為神造人，是按著他自己的形象。

“‘你要剪去頭髮，並且把它拋掉，上到光禿的高岡舉哀，因為耶和華擯斥、棄絕了他所憎恨的世代。’”

不可跪拜它們，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華你們的神是忌邪的神；恨惡我的，我必追討他們的罪，從父親到兒子，直到三四代。

因為你看！耶和華從他的居所出來，要懲罰地上居民的罪孽；大地要露出其上所流的血，不再遮蓋被殺的人。”

因為有一位行毀滅的來攻擊巴比倫，巴比倫的勇士被擒住，他們的弓弩折斷了，因為耶和華是報應的神，他必報復巴比倫。

這樣，你們就沒有玷污你們所在之地，因為血能玷污地；在地上如果有流人血的，除非流那故意殺人者的血，那地的血就不能得贖。

因為那追討流人血的罪的，他記念受苦的人，他沒有忘記他們的哀求。

又因著他所流無辜人的血，他使耶路撒冷滿了無辜人的血，耶和華決不赦免。

天哪，你要因她歡喜！眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊，你們也要因她歡喜！因為神已經在她身上為你們伸了冤。”有一位大力的天使，把一塊好像大磨石一樣的石頭，舉起來拋在海裡，說：“巴比倫大城也必這樣被猛力地拋下去，決不能再找到了！彈琴、奏樂、吹笛、吹號的聲音，在你中間決不能再聽到了！各樣手藝技工，在你中間決不能再找到了！推磨的聲音，在你中間決不能再聽到了！燈的亮光，在你中間決不能再照耀了！新郎新娘的聲音，在你中間決不能再聽到了！你的商人一向都是地上的大人物，萬國都因你的邪術受了迷惑。先知、聖徒和地上一切被殺的人的血，都在這城裡找到了！”
