Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”

Suppose your whole body is full of light. And suppose no part of it is dark. Then your body will be full of light. It will be just as when a lamp shines its light on you.”

Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. NunYour word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

For God, who said,“ Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over.

My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

I will lead blind Israel down a new path, guiding them along an unfamiliar way. I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them. Yes, I will indeed do these things; I will not forsake them.

Then he added,“ Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given— and you will receive even more.To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.”

Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.

He replied,“ You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not.To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.

Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance

Then he added,“ Every teacher of religious law who becomes a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a homeowner who brings from his storeroom new gems of truth as well as old.”

Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”
