Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

As the Scriptures say,“ God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear.”Likewise, David said,“ Let their bountiful table become a snare, a trap that makes them think all is well. Let their blessings cause them to stumble, and let them get what they deserve.Let their eyes go blind so they cannot see, and let their backs be bent forever.”

‘ You have eyes— can’t you see? You have ears— can’t you hear?’ Don’t you remember anything at all?

Listen, you foolish and senseless people, with eyes that do not see and ears that do not hear.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord.

This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.

so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled:‘ When they see what I do, they will learn nothing. When they hear what I say, they will not understand. Otherwise, they will turn to me and be forgiven.’”

We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you.

When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere.“ Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha.“ Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him.“ For there are more on our side than on theirs!”Then Elisha prayed,“ O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.As the Aramean army advanced toward him, Elisha prayed,“ O Lord, please make them blind.” So the Lord struck them with blindness as Elisha had asked.Then Elisha went out and told them,“ You have come the wrong way! Follow me, and I will take you to the man you are looking for.” And he led them to the city of Samaria.As soon as they had entered Samaria, Elisha prayed,“ O Lord, now open their eyes and let them see.” So the Lord opened their eyes, and they discovered that they were in the middle of Samaria.

Who is as blind as my own people, my servant? Who is as deaf as my messenger? Who is as blind as my chosen people, the servant of the Lord?

Greedy people try to get rich quick but don’t realize they’re headed for poverty.

For the Lord has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep. He has closed the eyes of your prophets and visionaries.
