示巴女王聽見所羅門因耶和華的名所得的名聲，就來要用難題考問所羅門。她帶着很多的隨從來到耶路撒冷，有駱駝馱着香料、極多金子和寶石。她來到所羅門那裏，向他提出心中所有的問題。所羅門回答了她所有的問題，沒有一個問題太難，王不能向她解答的。示巴女王看見所羅門一切的智慧，和他所建造的宮殿，席上的食物，坐着的羣臣，侍立的僕人，他們的服裝，和他的司酒長，以及他在耶和華殿裏所獻的燔祭，就詫異得神不守舍。她對王說：「我在本國所聽到的話，論到你的事和你的智慧是真的！我本來不信那些話，及至我來親眼看見了，看哪，人所告訴我的還不到一半，你的智慧和你的福分超過我所聽見的傳聞。你的人是有福的！你這些僕人常侍立在你面前、聽你智慧的話是有福的！耶和華－你的神是應當稱頌的！他喜愛你，使你坐以色列的王位，因為他永遠愛以色列，所以立你作王，使你秉公行義。」於是，示巴女王把一百二十他連得金子、極多的香料和寶石送給所羅門王；送來的香料，從來沒有像示巴女王送給他的那麼多。希蘭的船隻也從俄斐運了金子來，又從俄斐運了許多檀香木和寶石來。王用檀香木為耶和華的殿和王宮做欄杆，又為歌唱的人做琴瑟。以後再沒有這樣的檀香木運進來，也再沒有人見過，直到如今。所羅門王除了照自己的厚意餽贈示巴女王之外，凡她所提出的一切要求，所羅門王都送給她。於是女王和她臣僕轉回，到本國去了。

聖靈降在他身上，形狀彷彿鴿子；又有聲音從天上來，說：「你是我的愛子，我喜愛你。」

因有一嬰孩為我們而生；有一子賜給我們。政權必擔在他的肩頭上；他名稱為「奇妙策士、全能的神、永在的父、和平的君」。他的政權與平安必加增無窮。他必在大衛的寶座上治理他的國，以公平公義使國堅定穩固，從今直到永遠。萬軍之耶和華的熱心必成就這事。

因着信，挪亞既蒙神指示他未見的事，動了敬畏的心，造了方舟，使他全家得救。藉此他定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那從信而來的義。

耶和華對我說：「背道的以色列比奸詐的猶大還顯為義。

而且那本來未受割禮的，若能全守律法，豈不是要審判你這有儀文和割禮，竟違犯律法的人嗎？

凡為攻擊你而造的兵器必無效用；在審判時興起用口舌攻擊你的，你必駁倒他。這是耶和華僕人的產業，是他們從我所得的義；這是耶和華說的。

愛子是那看不見的神之像，是首生的，在一切被造的以先。因為萬有都是在他裏面造的，無論是天上的、地上的，能看見的、不能看見的，或是有權位的、統治的，或是執政的、掌權的，一概都是藉着他為着他造的。他在萬有之先；萬有也靠他而存在。他是身體（教會）的頭；他是元始，是從死人中復活的首生者，好讓他在萬有中居首位。因為神喜歡使一切的豐盛在他裏面居住，

有聲音從雲彩裏出來，說：「這是我的兒子，我所揀選的。你們要聽從他！」
