耶和华问撒旦：“你从哪里来？”撒旦答道：“我在地上到处游走。”

接着污鬼再三哀求耶稣，不要把它们逐出那个地区。

那时，你们随从今世的风俗，顺服在空中掌权的魔鬼，就是如今在一切叛逆上帝之人心中运行的邪灵。

我要用水浇灌干渴之地，使河流滋润干旱之土。我要用我的灵浇灌你的后裔，使我的福泽临到你的子孙。

炙热的沙漠变成池塘，旱地涌出甘泉；豺狼的巢穴长出青草、芦苇和蒲草。

“贫穷困苦的人找不到水喝，他们口干舌燥。但我耶和华必应允他们的呼求，我——以色列的上帝不会撇弃他们。我要使光秃的山岭上江河奔流，山谷中泉水涌流；我要使沙漠变成水塘，使干地冒出泉水。我要在旷野栽香柏树、皂荚树、番石榴树和橄榄树。我要在沙漠种松树、杉树和黄杨树。

沙漠和干旱之地必欢喜；旷野必快乐，开满鲜花，姹紫嫣红，喜乐漫溢，发出欢呼，散发着黎巴嫩的荣耀、迦密和沙仑的荣美。人们必看见耶和华的荣耀，我们上帝的光辉。

然而，恶人就像波涛汹涌、难以平静的大海，海浪中涌出淤泥和污物。”我的上帝说：“他们必得不到平安。”

求你给个凭据。我把一团羊毛放在麦场上，若明天早晨只是羊毛上有露水，地面却是干的，我就知道，如你所言，你要用我去拯救以色列人。”果然如此，基甸一早醒来，从羊毛中挤出满满一碗露水。基甸又对上帝说：“求你不要发怒，容许我再试一次，这次让羊毛是干的，地面有露水。”那天晚上，耶和华就照他所求使地面布满露水，唯独羊毛是干的。

因为他们不作恶就无法入睡，不绊倒人就无法安眠；

他对我说：“这水向东流，经过亚拉巴流到盐海，使那里的咸水变为淡水。河水流经的地方，万物滋长，鱼产丰盛，因为河水使那里的咸水变成淡水了。渔夫要站在岸边捕鱼，从隐·基底到隐·以革莲都是晒网的地方。那里的鱼就像大海的鱼一样种类繁多。但沼泽和湿洼之地却不会改变，留作产盐之地。
