But when someone stronger attacks, he is overpowered. The attacker takes away the armor the man had trusted in. Then he divides up what he has stolen.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

In that day, the Lord will punish with his sword— his fierce, great and powerful sword— Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength?“ It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.”Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?“ I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
