那时，一个有鬼魔附身、又瞎又哑的人被带到耶稣那里。耶稣使他痊愈，那哑巴就能说话，也能看见了。众人都十分惊讶，说：“难道这个人就是‘大卫的后裔’？”但法利赛人听见了却说：“这个人如果不是靠着鬼魔的王别西卜，就不能驱赶鬼魔！”

两个人离去了。这时候有几个人把一个有鬼魔附身的哑巴带到耶稣那里。鬼魔一被赶出去，哑巴就说出话来。众人都感到惊奇，他们说：“这样的事，在以色列从来没有见过。”但法利赛人却说：“他是靠鬼魔的王驱赶鬼魔的。”

有人把一个又聋又哑的人带到耶稣面前，恳求耶稣按手在他身上。耶稣把他从人群中单独带到一边去，用指头伸进他的耳朵，吐唾沫来抹他的舌头，然后望天嘘了一口气，对他说：“以法达！”——这意思是“开了吧”。他的耳朵立刻开了，舌结也解了，说话也清楚了。耶稣吩咐他们不要告诉任何人。但是，他越是吩咐，他们越是大大传扬。人们极其惊讶，说：“他所做的一切都好！他甚至使聋子听见，使哑巴说话。”
