that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (niv)

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. (niv)

Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (niv)

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (niv)

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! (niv)

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. (niv)

“ What are mortals, that they could be pure, or those born of woman, that they could be righteous?If God places no trust in his holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in his eyes,how much less mortals, who are vile and corrupt, who drink up evil like water! (niv)

Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. (niv)

The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. (niv)

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. (niv)
