Now in the area around that place was an estate belonging to the leading man of the island, named Publius, who welcomed us and entertained us hospitably for three days.Publius’s father was in bed suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went to him, and praying and laying his hands on him, he healed him.After this, the rest of those on the island who had diseases also came and were cured.So they heaped many honors on us, and when we sailed, they gave us what we needed.

Then He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God will come, He answered them,“ The kingdom of God is not coming with something observable;no one will say,‘ Look here!’ or‘ There!’ For you see, the kingdom of God is among you.”

Therefore, let it be known to you that this saving work of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen!”

“ In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, and this kingdom will not be left to another people. It will crush all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself endure forever.

From then on Jesus began to preach,“ Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near!”

As you go, announce this:‘ The kingdom of heaven has come near.’Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with skin diseases, drive out demons. You have received free of charge; give free of charge.

And He said:“ How can we illustrate the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to describe it?

Jesus replied,“ I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

And they were driving out many demons, anointing many sick people with olive oil, and healing them.
