逾越节前六天，耶稣到了伯大尼，就是拉撒路所住的地方；耶稣曾经使这拉撒路从死人中复活。有人在那里为耶稣预备了筵席。马大在那里侍候，拉撒路也和一些人与耶稣一同吃饭。马利亚拿了半公斤珍贵纯正的哪哒香膏，抹耶稣的脚，又用自己的头发去擦；屋里就满了香膏的香气。

还有几个蒙了医治、脱离污鬼与疾病的妇女，其中有称为抹大拉的马利亚，曾有七个鬼从她身上赶出来；有希律的管家古撒的妻子约亚拿，又有苏珊娜，和许多别的妇女，她们都用自己的财物供给耶稣和门徒。

她和她一家受了洗以后，就请求说：“你们若认为我是对主忠实的，就请到我家来住。”于是她强留我们。
