The expert in religious law said,“ The one who showed mercy to him.” So Jesus said to him,“ Go and do the same.”

The expert in the law replied,“ The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him,“ Go and do likewise.”

The authority on the law replied,“ The one who felt sorry for him.” Jesus told him,“ Go and do as he did.”

He said,“ The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him,“ You go, and do likewise.”

The man replied,“ The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said,“ Yes, now go and do the same.”

“ The one who showed mercy to him,” he said. Then Jesus told him,“ Go and do the same.”

And he said,“ The one who showed compassion to him.” Then Jesus said to him,“ Go and do the same.”

And he said,“ He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him,“ Go and do likewise.”

And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

“ The one who showed mercy to him,” he said. Then Jesus told him,“ Go and do the same.”

And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

He said,“ He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him,“ Go and do likewise.”

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was rich, he became poor for your sakes, so that you by his poverty could become rich.

“ If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.And if you lend to those from whom you hope to be repaid, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, so that they may be repaid in full.But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to ungrateful and evil people.Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps.

“ Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You give a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you neglect what is more important in the law– justice, mercy, and faithfulness! You should have done these things without neglecting the others.

He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the LORD really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.

For I have given you an example– you should do just as I have done for you.I tell you the solemn truth, the slave is not greater than his master, nor is the one who is sent as a messenger greater than the one who sent him.If you understand these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

For I delight in faithfulness, not simply in sacrifice; I delight in acknowledging God, not simply in whole burnt offerings.

you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

The one who despises his neighbor sins, but whoever is kind to the needy is blessed.

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

and from Jesus Christ– the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has set us free from our sins at the cost of his own blood

Now this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he gave us the commandment.And the person who keeps his commandments resides in God, and God in him. Now by this we know that God resides in us: by the Spirit he has given us.

but we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone.For it was fitting for him, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.For indeed he who makes holy and those being made holy all have the same origin, and so he is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,saying,“ I will proclaim your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.”Again he says,“ I will be confident in him,” and again,“ Here I am, with the children God has given me.”Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death( that is, the devil),and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.
