在王宫里的太监古实人以伯‧米勒，听见他们把耶利米丢进井里，那时王坐在便雅悯门前。以伯‧米勒从王宫里出来，对王说：“主—我的王啊，这些人向耶利米先知一味地行恶，把他丢在井里；他在那里必因饥饿而死，因为城里不再有粮食了。”王就吩咐古实人以伯‧米勒说：“你从这里带领三十人，趁耶利米先知还没死，把他从井里拉上来。”于是以伯‧米勒带领这些人同去，进入王宫，到库房以下，从那里取了些碎布和破衣服，用绳子缒下去，到井里耶利米那里。古实人以伯‧米勒对耶利米说：“你用这些碎布和破衣服放在绳子上，垫你的腋下。”耶利米就照样做。这样，他们用绳子将耶利米从井里拉上来。耶利米仍在护卫兵的院中。

主看见那寡妇就怜悯她，对她说：“不要哭。”

耶稣差遣这十二个人出去，吩咐他们说：“外邦人的路，你们不要走；撒玛利亚人的城，你们不要进；

你不应该怜悯你的同伴，像我怜悯你吗？’

她打开箱子，看见那孩子。看哪，男孩在哭，她就可怜他，说：“这是希伯来人的一个孩子。”

犹太人回答他：“我们说你是撒玛利亚人，并且是被鬼附的，这话不是很对吗？”

撒玛利亚妇人对他说：“你是犹太人，怎么向我一个撒玛利亚女人要水喝呢？”因为犹太人和撒玛利亚人没有来往。

“你去告诉古实人以伯‧米勒说，万军之耶和华—以色列的神如此说：看哪，我说降祸不降福的话必临到这城，到那时必在你面前实现。到那日我必拯救你，你必不致交在你所怕的人手中。这是耶和华说的。我定要搭救你，你必不致倒在刀下，却要保全自己的性命，因你倚靠我。这是耶和华说的。”

又俯伏在耶稣脚前感谢他。这人是撒玛利亚人。耶稣回答说：“洁净了的不是十个人吗？那九个在哪里呢？除了这外族人，再没有别人回来归荣耀给神吗？”

他打发使者在他前头走；他们进了撒玛利亚的一个村庄，要为他作准备。那里的人不接待他，因为他面向着耶路撒冷去。
