Jesus took up the question and said,“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him, beat him up, and fled, leaving him half dead.

耶穌便接着說：『有一個人從耶路撒冷下耶利哥，碰見強盜：他們剝去他的衣裳，加以擊傷走了，丟下他半死的。

耶穌回答說：「有一個人從耶路撒冷下到耶利哥去，途中遇到強盜。他們剝去他的衣服，把他打得半死，丟下他走了。

耶穌曰、或自耶路撒冷下耶利哥、遇盜、剝其衣、且傷之、瀕死、委之而去、

耶穌曰、有人自耶路撒冷、下耶利哥、遇盜、剝且傷、瀕死、委之而去、

耶穌曰、有人自耶路撒冷下那利歌、遇盜、褫其衣、且傷之幾死、棄之而去、

耶穌對曰：『有人自耶路撒冷、下日里閣、道遇寇、褫其衣、擊之、幾斃、乃棄而逸去。

In reply Jesus said:“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

Jesus replied,“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. Robbers attacked him. They stripped off his clothes and beat him. Then they went away, leaving him almost dead.

Jesus replied,“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead.

Jesus replied with a story:“ A Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road.

Jesus replied and said,“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he encountered robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.

Then Jesus answered and said:“ A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Jesus made answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

And Jesus answering said, A certain[ man] went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded[ him], and departed, leaving[ him] half dead.

Jesus replied,“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him up, and went off, leaving him half dead.

Jesus answered,“ A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Then he took the Twelve aside and told them,“ See, we are going up to Jerusalem. Everything that is written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.

I am counted among those going down to the Pit. I am like a man without strength,

When he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

I will strengthen the arms of Babylon’s king and place my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him as a mortally wounded man.

Therefore, look, the days are coming— this is the LORD’s declaration— when I will punish her carved images, and the wounded will groan throughout her land.

They cry out to their mothers,“ Where is the grain and wine?” as they faint like the wounded in the streets of the city, as their life pours out in the arms of their mothers.
