有律師起而試之曰、夫子、我當何為、以嗣永生、

有教法師、起而試之曰、先生、我當何為、可得永生、

有教法師起而試之曰、師、我當何為、可得永生、

時有一經生起而試主曰：『夫子、吾何修始可獲永生乎？』

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus.“ Teacher,” he asked,“ what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

One day an authority on the law stood up to test Jesus.“ Teacher,” he asked,“ what must I do to receive eternal life?”

And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question:“ Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?”

Then an expert in the law stood up to test him, saying,“ Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

And behold, a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Just then an expert in the law stood up to test Him, saying,“ Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Now an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus, saying,“ Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

法利赛人听见耶稣使撒都该人无言以对，就聚集在一起。其中有位律法专家试探耶稣说：“老师，请问律法中哪一条诫命最重要呢？”耶稣回答说：“‘你要全心、全情、全意爱主——你的上帝’，这是第一条也是最重要的诫命。第二条也相似，就是‘要爱邻如己’。

一位官长问耶稣：“良善的老师，我该做什么才能承受永生？”

狱卒领他们出来后问道：“两位先生，我该怎样做才能得救？”他们说：“要信主耶稣，你和你一家就必定得救。”

有一个人来请教耶稣：“老师，我该做什么善事才能获得永生呢？”耶稣说：“你为什么问我做什么善事？只有上帝是善的，你要得永生，就必须遵守祂的诫命。”那人问：“什么诫命呢？”耶稣答道：“不可杀人，不可通奸，不可偷盗，不可作伪证，要孝敬父母，并且爱邻如己。”

但那些法利赛人和律法教师没有接受约翰的洗礼，拒绝了上帝为他们所定的旨意。

倘若我们是靠守律法去承受产业，我们就不是倚靠上帝的应许。但上帝是凭应许把产业赐给了亚伯拉罕。

一位律法教师对耶稣说：“老师，你这话把我们也侮辱了！”耶稣回答说：“你们这些律法教师也有祸了！你们把沉重难负的担子放在别人肩上，自己却连一根指头也不肯动。
