In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said,“ I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well- pleasing in your sight.”

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing,

Now we do speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are perishing.Instead we speak the wisdom of God, hidden in a mystery, that God determined before the ages for our glory.None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.Yes, Father, for this was your gracious will.All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal him.

I tell you the truth, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

And Jesus answered him,“ You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven!

He replied,“ You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but they have not.For whoever has will be given more, and will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.For this reason I speak to them in parables: Although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand.And concerning them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:‘ You will listen carefully yet will never understand, you will look closely yet will never comprehend.For the heart of this people has become dull; they are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes, so that they would not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’“ But your eyes are blessed because they see, and your ears because they hear.

He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will–

In Christ we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, since we were predestined according to the one purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will

My goal is that their hearts, having been knit together in love, may be encouraged, and that they may have all the riches that assurance brings in their understanding of the knowledge of the mystery of God, namely, Christ,in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.And yearn like newborn infants for pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to salvation,

From the mouths of children and nursing babies you have ordained praise on account of your adversaries, so that you might put an end to the vindictive enemy.

The LORD your God is in your midst; he is a warrior who can deliver. He takes great delight in you; he renews you by his love; he shouts for joy over you.”

This is what the LORD says:“ The heavens are my throne and the earth is my footstool. Where then is the house you will build for me? Where is the place where I will rest?

Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish?For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom,but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position.But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something,so that no one can boast in his presence.

The LORD owns the earth and all it contains, the world and all who live in it.

At that time the deaf will be able to hear words read from a scroll, and the eyes of the blind will be able to see through deep darkness.The downtrodden will again rejoice in the LORD; the poor among humankind will take delight in the Holy One of Israel.

A thoroughfare will be there– it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it; it is reserved for those authorized to use it– fools will not stray into it.

So they took away the stone. Jesus looked upward and said,“ Father, I thank you that you have listened to me.

Therefore I will again do an amazing thing for these people– an absolutely extraordinary deed. Wise men will have nothing to say, the sages will have no explanations.”

As a young man marries a young woman, so your sons will marry you. As a bridegroom rejoices over a bride, so your God will rejoice over you.

Guard against self- deception, each of you. If someone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become foolish so that he can become wise.For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written,“ He catches the wise in their craftiness.”And again,“ The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
