And he said unto them, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.

Do you not say,‘ There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together.For here the saying holds true,‘ One sows and another reaps.’I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor.For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you,

We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,

It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake.

As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

And he said to them,“ Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews.

“‘ And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”( In saying,“ He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

“ Woe to my worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! Let his arm be wholly withered, his right eye utterly blinded!”

Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.

And he said to me,‘ Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

And I will come down and talk with you there. And I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, so that you may not bear it yourself alone.

And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,

For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.

Then Elijah said to the people,“ I, even I only, am left a prophet of the Lord, but Baal’s prophets are 450 men.

but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

But Moses said to him,“ Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord’s people were prophets, that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”

“ For the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

The Lord gives the word; the women who announce the news are a great host:

Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Those who buy them slaughter them and go unpunished, and those who sell them say,‘ Blessed be the Lord, I have become rich,’ and their own shepherds have no pity on them.

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you, always struggling on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.

Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.For the Scripture says,“ You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and,“ The laborer deserves his wages.”

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying,“ Come over to Macedonia and help us.”And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

All you beasts of the field, come to devour— all you beasts in the forest.His watchmen are blind; they are all without knowledge; they are all silent dogs; they cannot bark, dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.The dogs have a mighty appetite; they never have enough. But they are shepherds who have no understanding; they have all turned to their own way, each to his own gain, one and all.“ Come,” they say,“ let me get wine; let us fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow will be like this day, great beyond measure.”

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service,though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them,“ Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said,“ Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there not here another prophet of the Lord of whom we may inquire?”And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,“ There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, Micaiah the son of Imlah, but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said,“ Let not the king say so.”

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord God: Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep?You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep.The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the injured you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them.So they were scattered, because there was no shepherd, and they became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered;They wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, with none to search or seek for them.

for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in your service to me.

but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.
