I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

I have given you authority to walk all over snakes and scorpions. You will be able to destroy all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.

又能用手拿蛇，萬一喝了什麼毒物，也不會受害。他們把手按在病人身上，病人就可痊癒。」

可是保羅把蛇甩進火裡，並沒有受傷。

賜平安的上帝快要把撒旦踐踏在你們腳下了。願我們主耶穌的恩典常與你們同在！

若有人要傷害他們，他們便從口中噴出火焰，燒滅敵人；若有人企圖加害他們，必定會這樣被殺。

不要貪愛錢財，要對自己擁有的知足，因為上帝說過：「我永不撇下你，也不離棄你。」這樣，我們可以放膽地說：「主是我的幫助，我必不懼怕，人能把我怎麼樣？」

人子啊，不要怕他們和他們的話，雖然你周圍佈滿荊棘和毒蠍，也不要害怕。他們是一群叛逆的人，你不要怕他們的話，也不要因為他們的臉色而驚慌。

你們將為我的名而被眾人憎恨，但你們連一根頭髮也不會失落。

吃奶的嬰孩在毒蛇的洞口玩耍，斷奶的孩子把手伸進蛇洞。

對於這些事，我們還可以說什麼呢？上帝若幫助我們，誰能與我們對抗？上帝既然連自己的兒子也不顧惜，讓祂為我們犧牲，豈不也把萬物和祂一同白白地賜給我們嗎？誰能指控上帝揀選的人呢？上帝已經稱他們為義人了。誰能定他們有罪呢？基督耶穌已經替他們死了，而且祂還從死裡復活了，如今在上帝的右邊替我們祈禱。誰能使我們與基督的愛分離呢？難道是患難嗎？困苦嗎？迫害嗎？饑餓嗎？赤身露體嗎？危險嗎？刀劍嗎？正如聖經上說：「為了你，我們終日出生入死，被視為待宰的羊。」然而，靠著愛我們的主，我們在這一切事上已經得勝有餘了。因為我深信無論是死、是生，是天使、是鬼魔，是現在的事、是將來的事，是高天之上的、是大地深處的或是其他受造之物，都不能使我們與上帝在主基督耶穌裡賜下的愛分離。
