可是保罗把蛇甩进火里，并没有受伤。

赐平安的上帝快要把撒旦践踏在你们脚下了。愿我们主耶稣的恩典常与你们同在！

若有人要伤害他们，他们便从口中喷出火焰，烧灭敌人；若有人企图加害他们，必定会这样被杀。

不要贪爱钱财，要对自己拥有的知足，因为上帝说过：“我永不撇下你，也不离弃你。”这样，我们可以放胆地说：“主是我的帮助，我必不惧怕，人能把我怎么样？”

人子啊，不要怕他们和他们的话，虽然你周围布满荆棘和毒蝎，也不要害怕。他们是一群叛逆的人，你不要怕他们的话，也不要因为他们的脸色而惊慌。

你们将为我的名而被众人憎恨，但你们连一根头发也不会失落。

吃奶的婴孩在毒蛇的洞口玩耍，断奶的孩子把手伸进蛇洞。

对于这些事，我们还可以说什么呢？上帝若帮助我们，谁能与我们对抗？上帝既然连自己的儿子也不顾惜，让祂为我们牺牲，岂不也把万物和祂一同白白地赐给我们吗？谁能指控上帝拣选的人呢？上帝已经称他们为义人了。谁能定他们有罪呢？基督耶稣已经替他们死了，而且祂还从死里复活了，如今在上帝的右边替我们祈祷。谁能使我们与基督的爱分离呢？难道是患难吗？困苦吗？迫害吗？饥饿吗？赤身露体吗？危险吗？刀剑吗？正如圣经上说：“为了你，我们终日出生入死，被视为待宰的羊。”然而，靠着爱我们的主，我们在这一切事上已经得胜有余了。因为我深信无论是死、是生，是天使、是鬼魔，是现在的事、是将来的事，是高天之上的、是大地深处的或是其他受造之物，都不能使我们与上帝在主基督耶稣里赐下的爱分离。
