Yea and thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Most High: For thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to make ready his ways;

惟汝小子、將稱為至上者之先知、因爾行於主前、以備其路、

此子將稱至上者之先知、為主前驅、以備其道、

惟汝嬰兒、必稱為至上者之先知、因爾將為主前驅、以備其路、

終我之身、聖德是務。

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

Even as it is written in Isaiah the prophet, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way;The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight;

The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God.Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain:and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.

And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

But wherefore went ye out? to see a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way before thee.

But should we say, From men— they feared the people: for all verily held John to be a prophet.

The same following after Paul and us cried out, saying, These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim unto you the way of salvation.

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.

But love your enemies, and do them good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.

But if we shall say, From men; we fear the multitude; for all hold John as a prophet.

Yea, of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her; And the Most High himself will establish her.

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Jehovah come.

I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:

Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I am sent before him.

This is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way before thee.I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there is none greater than John: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.Every valley shall be filled, And every mountain and hill shall be brought low; And the crooked shall become straight, And the rough ways smooth;And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

when John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.And as John was fulfilling his course, he said, What suppose ye that I am? I am not he. But behold, there cometh one after me the shoes of whose feet I am not worthy to unloose.

even he that cometh after me, the latchet of whose shoe I am not worthy to unloose.

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn unto the Lord their God.And he shall go before his face in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to walk in the wisdom of the just; to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.
