For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,saying,“ Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath,that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

You will give truth to Jacob And mercy to Abraham, Which You have sworn to our fathers From days of old.

then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember; I will remember the land.

And for their sake He remembered His covenant, And relented according to the multitude of His mercies.

“ Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;

He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy,As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever.”

You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham,‘ And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.

He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,

Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it.Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say,“ And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one,“ And to your Seed,” who is Christ.And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.

“ When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord God.

He has given food to those who fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant.

I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

“ As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”And God said to Abraham:“ As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
