I was restored to the honor of my kingdom, and my splendor returned to me. My ministers and my nobles were seeking me out, and I was reinstated over my kingdom. I became even greater than before.Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, for all his deeds are right and his ways are just. He is able to bring down those who live in pride.

They brought to him a deaf man who had difficulty speaking, and they asked him to place his hands on him.After Jesus took him aside privately, away from the crowd, he put his fingers in the man’s ears, and after spitting, he touched his tongue.Then he looked up to heaven and said with a sigh,“ Ephphatha”( that is,“ Be opened”).And immediately the man’s ears were opened, his tongue loosened, and he spoke plainly.Jesus ordered them not to tell anything. But as much as he ordered them not to do this, they proclaimed it all the more.People were completely astounded and said,“ He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said,“ Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”

At that time you will say:“ I praise you, O LORD, for even though you were angry with me, your anger subsided, and you consoled me.

On that day I will make Israel powerful, and I will give you the right to be heard among them. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”

O Lord, give me the words! Then my mouth will praise you.

O LORD, in your good favor you made me secure. Can the dust of the grave praise you? Can it declare your loyalty?Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me! O LORD, deliver me!”Then you turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and covered me with joy.So now my heart will sing to you and not be silent; O LORD my God, I will always give thanks to you.

But when I speak with you, I will loosen your tongue and you must say to them,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says.’ Those who listen will listen, but the indifferent will refuse, for they are a rebellious house.

The LORD severely punished me, but he did not hand me over to death.Open for me the gates of the just king’s temple! I will enter through them and give thanks to the LORD.
