God said,“ No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.

O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones!He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth.He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,

As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,

I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

The Lord swore to David a sure oath from which he will not turn back:“ One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne.If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them, their sons also forever shall sit on your throne.”For the Lord has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place:“ This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread.Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her saints will shout for joy.There I will make a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed.

and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.”

Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say,“ And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one,“ And to your offspring,” who is Christ.This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void.
