He has brought down rulers from their thrones. But he has lifted up people who are not considered important.

he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;

He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble.

he has toppled the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

The lowly he sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.He catches the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away.

“ I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap;he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people.

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position.But the rich should take pride in their humiliation— since they will pass away like a wild flower.
