He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

He has done mighty things with his powerful arm. He has scattered those who are proud in their deepest thoughts.

He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;

His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones.

Does a saw magnify itself above the one who saws with it? It would be like a rod waving the ones who lift it! It would be like a staff lifting the one who isn’t wood!Therefore the Lord GOD of Armies will inflict an emaciating disease on the well-fed of Assyria, and he will kindle a burning fire under its glory.Israel’s Light will become a fire, and its Holy One, a flame. In one day it will burn and consume Assyria’s thorns and thistles.He will completely destroy the glory of its forests and orchards as a sickness consumes a person.The remaining trees of its forest will be so few in number that a child could count them.

You have a mighty arm; your hand is powerful; your right hand is lifted high.

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers conspire together against the LORD and his Anointed One:“ Let’s tear off their chains and throw their ropes off of us.”The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord ridicules them.Then he speaks to them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath:“ I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

We have heard of Moab’s pride, great pride, indeed— his insolence, arrogance, pride, and haughty heart.I know his outburst. This is the LORD’s declaration. It is empty. His boast is empty.

Do you have an arm like God’s? Can you thunder with a voice like his?Adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and clothe yourself with honor and glory.Pour out your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.Look on every proud person and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

When the LORD saw that human wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every inclination of the human mind was nothing but evil all the time,

I will praise you forever for what you have done. In the presence of your faithful people, I will put my hope in your name, for it is good.

For this reason her plagues will come in just one day— death and grief and famine. She will be burned up with fire, because the Lord God who judges her is mighty.

You satisfy me as with rich food; my mouth will praise you with joyful lips.

“ This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, and PARSIN.This is the interpretation of the message:‘ Mene’ means that God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end.‘ Tekel’ means that you have been weighed on the balance and found deficient.‘ Peres’ means that your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”Then Belshazzar gave an order, and they clothed Daniel in purple, placed a gold chain around his neck, and issued a proclamation concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.That very night Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans was killed,and Darius the Mede received the kingdom at the age of sixty-two.

Or has a god attempted to go and take a nation as his own out of another nation, by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, by great terrors, as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
