For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,

Though the LORD[ be] high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed[ is] the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail,[ thou that art] highly favoured, the Lord[ is] with thee: blessed[ art] thou among women.

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,[ and] lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set[ them] among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth[ are] the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.

Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:

And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed[ art] thou among women, and blessed[ is] the fruit of thy womb.

Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who[ am] I, O Lord GOD? and what[ is] my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And[ is] this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble,[ are called]:But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen,[ yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,[ and] lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;That he may set[ him] with princes,[ even] with the princes of his people.

He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
