But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

But John tried to prevent Him, saying,“ I have the need to be baptized by You, and yet You are coming to me?”

For David himself says in the book of Psalms,‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at My right hand,Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” ’Therefore David calls Him‘ Lord,’ and so how is He his son?”

for that reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You; but just say the word, and my servant shall be healed.

Then she fell on her face, bowing to the ground, and said to him,“ Why have I found favor in your sight that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”

for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them mere rubbish, so that I may gain Christ,
