他的父亲撒迦利亚被圣灵充满，就预言说：

那时，彼得被圣灵充满，对他们说：“民众的首领和长老们，

因为他将要在主面前为大。淡酒和烈酒他绝不能喝，还在母腹中的时候，他就会被圣灵充满。

但是司提反充满圣灵，注目望天，看见了神的荣耀，又看见耶稣站在神的右边。

看哪，原来你问候的声音一传入我的耳朵，胎儿就在我的腹中欢喜跳跃。

耶稣充满圣灵，从约旦河回来，被圣灵带到旷野，

有一个主日，我在灵里，听见我后面有一个大声音，如同号角声，

不要醉酒，醉酒带来放荡，而要被圣灵充满：

我自出母胎就被交托给你；一出母腹，你就是我的神。

两个胎儿在她里面彼此推挤，她就说：“为什么我身上会发生这样的事？”于是她去求问耶和华。

所以弟兄们，要从你们当中挑选七个有好名声、充满圣灵和智慧的人；我们就委任他们统管这事务。
