耶稣基督降生的事记在下面：他母亲马利亚已经许配给约瑟，还没有迎娶，马利亚就从圣灵怀了孕。

到一个童女那里，她已经许配大卫家的一个人，名叫约瑟；童女的名字叫马利亚。

你要怀孕生子，要给他起名叫耶稣。他将要为大，称为至高者的儿子；主上帝要把他祖先大卫的王位给他。

正考虑这些事的时候，忽然主的使者在约瑟梦中向他显现，说：“大卫的子孙约瑟，不要怕，把你的妻子马利亚娶过来，因她所怀的孕是从圣灵来的。

因为我们的大祭司并非不能体恤我们的软弱；他也在各方面受过试探，与我们一样，只是他没有犯罪。

我看见了，所以作证：这一位是上帝的儿子。”

拿但业回答他：“拉比！你是上帝的儿子，你是以色列的王。”

说：“拿撒勒人耶稣，你为什么干扰我们？你来消灭我们吗？我知道你是谁，你是上帝的圣者。”

二人正沿路往前走，到了有水的地方，太监说：“看哪！这里有水，有什么能阻止我受洗呢？”

现在活着的不再是我，乃是基督在我里面活着；并且我如今在肉身活着，是因信上帝的儿子而活；他是爱我，为我舍己。

百夫长和跟他一同看守耶稣的人看见地震和所经历的事，非常害怕，说：“他真是上帝的儿子！”

耶稣却不言语。大祭司对他说：“我指着永生上帝命令你起誓告诉我们，你是不是基督—上帝的儿子？”耶稣对他说：“你自己说了。然而，我告诉你们，此后你们要看见人子坐在权能者的右边，驾着天上的云来临。”

谁能使洁净出于污秽呢？谁也不能！

这样，在上帝面前人怎能称义？妇人所生的怎能洁净？

我们从前也都生活在他们当中，放纵肉体的私欲，随着肉体和心中的意念去做，和别人一样，生来就是该受惩罚的人。

何况那污秽可憎，喝罪孽如水的世人呢！

看哪，我是在罪孽里生的，在我母亲怀胎的时候就有了罪。

我要传耶和华的圣旨，他对我说：“你是我的儿子，我今日生了你。

在船上的人都拜他，说：“你真是上帝的儿子。”

但记载这些事是要使你们信耶稣是基督，是上帝的儿子，并且使你们信他，好因着他的名得生命。

上帝的儿子，耶稣基督福音的起头。

这样一位圣洁、无邪恶、无玷污、远离罪人、高过诸天的大祭司，对我们是最合适的；他不像那些大祭司，每日必须先为自己的罪，后为百姓的罪献祭，因为他只一次将自己献上就把这事成全了。律法所立的大祭司本是有弱点的人，但在律法以后，上帝以起誓的话立了儿子为大祭司，成为完全，直到永远。

那试探者进前来对他说：“你若是上帝的儿子，叫这些石头变成食物吧。”
