我要使你的舌头贴住上膛，使你变成哑巴，不能作责备他们的人，因为他们是叛逆的民族。

这两件事是不能更改的，因为神是决不说谎的。因此，我们这些逃进避难所的人，就大得安慰，抓紧那摆在我们面前的盼望。

凡是我所爱的，我就责备管教；所以你要热心，也要悔改。

那时，你要向逃脱的人开口说话，不再作哑巴。你必成为他们的一个兆头。他们就知道我是耶和华。”

他们就向孩子的父亲打手式，看他要叫他什么。他要了一块写字版，写上说：“他的名字是约翰。”众人都希奇。

这都是根据永生的盼望，这永生就是没有谎言的神在万世以前所应许的。

等到他出来，却不能讲话，竟成了哑巴，不断地向他们打手式，他们就知道他在圣殿里见了异象。

耶和华对他说：“谁造人的口呢？谁使人口哑、耳聋、眼明、眼瞎呢？不是我耶和华吗？

即使有人不信，又有什么关系呢？难道他们的不信会使神的信实无效吗？
