Reports of these things were handed down to us. There were people who saw these things for themselves from the beginning. They saw them and then passed the word on.

just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us,

They used the eyewitness reports circulating among us from the early disciples.

The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God,

For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed:

Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus was living among us,beginning from John’s baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection.”

As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

“ We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen— by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

You are witnesses of these things.

This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed.

The farmer sows the word.

if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ,
