撒迦利亞對天使說：「我怎麼能知道這事呢？我已經老了，我的妻子也年紀老邁了。」

沙加理曰：『此事吾何由得知？老夫耄矣、妻又年邁！』

Zechariah asked the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zechariah said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.”

“ How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel.“ For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zacharias said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

“ How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel.“ For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

Zechariah said to the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is old as well.”

亞伯拉罕就臉伏於地竊笑，心裏想：「一百歲的人還能有孩子嗎？撒拉已經九十歲了，還能生育嗎？」

馬利亞對天使說：「我沒有出嫁，怎麼會有這事呢？」

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我怎能知道我必得這地為業呢？」

基甸對上帝說：「你如果真的照你所說的，藉我的手拯救以色列，看哪，我把一團羊毛放在禾場上，若單是羊毛上有露水，遍地都是乾的，我就知道你必照你所說的，藉我的手拯救以色列。」一切果然發生了。次日早晨基甸起來，把羊毛擰一擰，從羊毛中擠出露水來，裝滿一碗的水。基甸又對上帝說：「求你不要向我發怒，我再說一次，讓我用羊毛再試一次，但願羊毛是乾的，遍地都有露水。」這夜，上帝也照樣做，遍地都有露水，只有羊毛是乾的。

摩西說：「跟我在一起的百姓，步行的男人就有六十萬，你還說：『我要把肉賜給他們，使他們可以整整吃一個月。』難道宰了羊羣牛羣，就夠給他們嗎？或者把海中所有的魚都捕來，就夠給他們嗎？」耶和華對摩西說：「耶和華的膀臂豈是縮短了嗎？現在你要看我的話向你應驗不應驗。」

撒拉心裏竊笑，說：「我已衰老，我的主也老了，怎能有這喜事呢？」

只是他們沒有孩子，因為伊利莎白不生育，兩個人又年紀老邁了。

他將近百歲的時候，雖然想到自己的身體如同已死，撒拉也不可能生育，他的信心還是不軟弱，

有一個攙扶王的軍官回答神人說：「看哪，即使耶和華打開天上的窗戶，也不可能有這事。」以利沙說：「看哪，你必親眼看見，在那裏卻吃不到甚麼。」

希西家說：「我能上耶和華的殿，有甚麼預兆呢？」
