撒迦利亞對天使說：「我憑着甚麼可知道這事呢？我已經老了，我的妻子也年紀老邁了。」

沙加理曰：『此事吾何由得知？老夫耄矣、妻又年邁！』

Zechariah asked the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zechariah said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.”

And Zacharias said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

“ How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel.“ For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

Zechariah said to the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is old as well.”

亞伯拉罕就俯伏在地喜笑，心裏說：「一百歲的人還能得孩子嗎？撒拉已經九十歲了，還能生養嗎？」

馬利亞對天使說：「我沒有出嫁，怎麼有這事呢？」

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我怎能知道必得這地為業呢？」

基甸對神說：「你若果照着所說的話，藉我手拯救以色列人，我就把一團羊毛放在禾場上：若單是羊毛上有露水，別的地方都是乾的，我就知道你必照着所說的話，藉我手拯救以色列人。」次日早晨基甸起來，見果然是這樣；將羊毛擠一擠，從羊毛中擰出滿盆的露水來。基甸又對神說：「求你不要向我發怒，我再說這一次：讓我將羊毛再試一次。但願羊毛是乾的，別的地方都有露水。」這夜神也如此行：獨羊毛上是乾的，別的地方都有露水。

摩西對耶和華說：「這與我同住的百姓、步行的男人有六十萬，你還說：『我要把肉給他們，使他們可以吃一個整月。』難道給他們宰了羊羣牛羣，或是把海中所有的魚都聚了來，就夠他們吃嗎？」耶和華對摩西說：「耶和華的膀臂豈是縮短了嗎？現在要看我的話向你應驗不應驗。」

撒拉心裏暗笑，說：「我既已衰敗，我主也老邁，豈能有這喜事呢？」

只是沒有孩子；因為伊利莎白不生育，兩個人又年紀老邁了。

他將近百歲的時候，雖然想到自己的身體如同已死，撒拉的生育已經斷絕，他的信心還是不軟弱；

有一個攙扶王的軍長對神人說：「即便耶和華使天開了窗戶，也不能有這事。」以利沙說：「你必親眼看見，卻不得吃。」

希西家問說：「我能上耶和華的殿，有甚麼兆頭呢？」
