撒迦利亞對天使說：「我已經老了，我的妻子也上了年紀，我如何知道這是真的呢？」

沙加理曰：『此事吾何由得知？老夫耄矣、妻又年邁！』

Zechariah asked the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zacharias said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

“ How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel.“ For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

Zechariah said to the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is old as well.”

亞伯拉罕就俯伏在地，笑了起來，心想：「我一百歲了，還能有孩子嗎？撒拉已經九十歲了，還能生養嗎？」

瑪麗亞對天使說：「這怎麼可能呢？我還是童貞女。」

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我怎麼知道我會得到這片土地呢？」

基甸對上帝說：「若如你所言，你要用我去拯救以色列人，求你給個憑據。我把一團羊毛放在麥場上，若明天早晨只是羊毛上有露水，地面卻是乾的，我就知道，如你所言，你要用我去拯救以色列人。」果然如此，基甸一早醒來，從羊毛中擠出滿滿一碗露水。基甸又對上帝說：「求你不要發怒，容許我再試一次，這次讓羊毛是乾的，地面有露水。」那天晚上，耶和華就照他所求使地面佈滿露水，唯獨羊毛是乾的。

摩西說：「和我同行的，僅男子就有六十萬，你還說要讓他們吃整整一個月的肉！就是把牛羊都宰了，把海裡的魚都捕來，恐怕也不夠他們吃！」耶和華說：「難道我的臂膀能力不夠嗎？你很快將看見我的話會不會應驗。」

撒拉暗自發笑，心想：「我已經這麼老了，還會有這種福氣嗎？況且我的丈夫也很老了。」

但他們沒有孩子，因為伊莉莎白不能生育，二人又年紀老邁。

那時他將近百歲，知道自己身體如同已死，撒拉也過了生育的歲數，但他的信心仍然沒有動搖。

一個攙扶王的將領對上帝的僕人說：「即使耶和華打開天上的窗戶，也不可能發生這樣的事！」以利沙說：「你必親眼看見，卻吃不到。」

希西迦問：「有什麼兆頭能證明我可以再上耶和華的殿嗎？」
