沙加理曰：『此事吾何由得知？老夫耄矣、妻又年邁！』

Zechariah asked the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zacharias said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

“ How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel.“ For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

亚伯拉罕就俯伏在地，笑了起来，心想：“我一百岁了，还能有孩子吗？撒拉已经九十岁了，还能生养吗？”

玛丽亚对天使说：“这怎么可能呢？我还是童贞女。”

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我怎么知道我会得到这片土地呢？”

基甸对上帝说：“若如你所言，你要用我去拯救以色列人，求你给个凭据。我把一团羊毛放在麦场上，若明天早晨只是羊毛上有露水，地面却是干的，我就知道，如你所言，你要用我去拯救以色列人。”果然如此，基甸一早醒来，从羊毛中挤出满满一碗露水。基甸又对上帝说：“求你不要发怒，容许我再试一次，这次让羊毛是干的，地面有露水。”那天晚上，耶和华就照他所求使地面布满露水，唯独羊毛是干的。

摩西说：“和我同行的，仅男子就有六十万，你还说要让他们吃整整一个月的肉！就是把牛羊都宰了，把海里的鱼都捕来，恐怕也不够他们吃！”耶和华说：“难道我的臂膀能力不够吗？你很快将看见我的话会不会应验。”

撒拉暗自发笑，心想：“我已经这么老了，还会有这种福气吗？况且我的丈夫也很老了。”

但他们没有孩子，因为伊丽莎白不能生育，二人又年纪老迈。

那时他将近百岁，知道自己身体如同已死，撒拉也过了生育的岁数，但他的信心仍然没有动摇。

一个搀扶王的将领对上帝的仆人说：“即使耶和华打开天上的窗户，也不可能发生这样的事！”以利沙说：“你必亲眼看见，却吃不到。”

希西迦问：“有什么兆头能证明我可以再上耶和华的殿吗？”
