以伊理藹之風度神力為主前驅、必使為父者之心歸向兒女、而頑強之子服膺長者之智、為主作育心悅誠服之新民。』

And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous— to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways,

They asked him,“ What then? Are you Elijah?” He said,“ I am not.”“ Are you the prophet?” He answered,“ No.”They said therefore to him,“ Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”He said,“ I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness,‘ Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”The ones who had been sent were from the Pharisees.They asked him,“ Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”John answered them,“ I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don’t know.He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said,“ Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!This is he of whom I said,‘ After me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me.’

You yourselves testify that I said,‘ I am not the Christ,’ but,‘ I have been sent before him.’

Jesus answered them,“ Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things,but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”

I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

They asked him, saying,“ Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”He said to them,“ Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him.”

Yahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;

giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light,

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!

Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness,looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, which will cause the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent to be found in peace, without defect and blameless in his sight.

They also who err in spirit will come to understanding, and those who grumble will receive instruction.”

He said therefore to the multitudes who went out to be baptized by him,“ You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, and don’t begin to say among yourselves,‘ We have Abraham for our father;’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones!Even now the ax also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.”The multitudes asked him,“ What then must we do?”He answered them,“ He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.”Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him,“ Teacher, what must we do?”He said to them,“ Collect no more than that which is appointed to you.”Soldiers also asked him, saying,“ What about us? What must we do?” He said to them,“ Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.”

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

“ Therefore thus I will do to you, Israel; because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, Israel.

He answered,‘ I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind, and went.He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered,‘ I’m going, sir,’ but he didn’t go.Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him,“ The first.” Jesus said to them,“ Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before you.For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.

Now therefore Yahweh says,“ You will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.”’” Then Elijah departed.The messengers returned to him, and he said to them,“ Why is it that you have returned?”They said to him,“ A man came up to meet us, and said to us,‘ Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him,“ Yahweh says,‘ Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.’”’”

Ahab said to Elijah,“ Have you found me, my enemy?” He answered,“ I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in Yahweh’s sight.

If anyone therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master’s use, prepared for every good work.

He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God.

I have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced, because of that which God had prepared for the people; for the thing was done suddenly.

and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,

who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

For John said to him,“ It is not lawful for you to have her.”

Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God.”

Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,

Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.Some of you were such, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

He answered,“ I have not troubled Israel; but you, and your father’s house, in that you have forsaken Yahweh’s commandments, and you have followed the Baals.

Now John himself wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.

He said to him,“ Yahweh says,‘ Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.’”

Samuel said,“ Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to Yahweh for you.”
