Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I am sent before him.

O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee;

giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth for ever.

Seeing that these things are thus all to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy living and godliness,looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.

They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall receive instruction.

And Elijah departed.And the messengers returned unto him, and he said unto them, Why is it that ye are returned?And they said unto him, There came up a man to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that thou sendest to inquire of Baal- zebub, the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee, because thou hast sold thyself to do that which is evil in the sight of Jehovah.

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, meet for the master’s use, prepared unto every good work.

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn unto the Lord their God.

And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the sojourners of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As Jehovah, the God of Israel, liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, because of that which God had prepared for the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of Jehovah, and thou hast followed the Baalim.

Now John himself had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

And he said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baal- zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you unto Jehovah.
