He brought the burnt offering and offered it in the prescribed way.

For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the form of those things itself, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually every year, make those who approach perfect.Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,“ You have not desired sacrifice and offering, But You have prepared a body for Me;You have not taken pleasure in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin.Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come( It is written of Me in the scroll of the book) To do Your will, O God.’ ”After saying above,“ Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them”( which are offered according to the Law),then He said,“ Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second.By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,waiting from that time onward until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet.For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,“ This is the covenant which I will make with them After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws upon their hearts, And write them on their mind,” He then says,“ And their sins and their lawless deeds I will no longer remember.”Now where there is forgiveness of these things, an offering for sin is no longer required.Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, through His flesh,and since we have a great priest over the house of God,let’s approach God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Now the Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying,“ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them,‘ When anyone of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of livestock from the herd or the flock.If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without defect; he shall offer it at the doorway of the tent of meeting, so that he may be accepted before the Lord.And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, so that it may be accepted for him to make atonement on his behalf.Then he shall slaughter the bull before the Lord; and Aaron’s sons the priests shall offer up the blood and sprinkle the blood around on the altar that is at the doorway of the tent of meeting.He shall then skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces.And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, with the head and the suet, on the wood which is on the fire that is on the altar.Its entrails, however, and its legs he shall wash with water. And the priest shall offer all of it up in smoke on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering by fire as a soothing aroma to the Lord.‘ But if his offering is from the flock, either from the sheep or from the goats, as a burnt offering, he shall offer a male without defect.And he shall slaughter it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall sprinkle its blood around on the altar.He shall then cut it into its pieces with its head and its suet, and the priest shall arrange them on the wood which is on the fire that is on the altar.The entrails, however, and the legs he shall wash with water. And the priest shall offer all of it, and offer it up in smoke on the altar; it is a burnt offering, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the Lord.

Then he presented the ram of the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.And Moses slaughtered it and sprinkled the blood around on the altar.When he had cut the ram into its pieces, Moses offered up the head and the pieces and the suet in smoke.After he had washed the entrails and the legs with water, Moses offered up the whole ram in smoke on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a soothing aroma; it was an offering by fire to the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
