Some reported to Saul,“ Look, the troops are sinning against the LORD by eating meat with the blood still in it.” Saul said,“ You have been unfaithful. Roll a large stone over here at once.”He then said,“ Go among the troops and say to them,‘ Let each man bring me his ox or his sheep. Do the slaughtering here and then you can eat. Don’t sin against the LORD by eating meat with the blood in it.’” So every one of the troops brought his ox that night and slaughtered it there.

So Jesus said to them,“ Truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves.

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

that you abstain from food offered to idols, from blood, from eating anything that has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. You will do well if you keep yourselves from these things. Farewell.”
