( 21: 37)“ If a man steals an ox or a sheep and kills it or sells it, he must pay back five head of cattle for the ox, and four sheep for the one sheep.

If the stolen item should in fact be found alive in his possession, whether it be an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he must pay back double.

No, this is the kind of fast I want. I want you to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, and to break every burdensome yoke.

People do not despise a thief when he steals to fulfill his need when he is hungry.Yet if he is caught he must repay seven times over, he might even have to give all the wealth of his house.

“ If a man gives his neighbor money or articles for safekeeping, and it is stolen from the man’s house, if the thief is caught, he must repay double.

So then, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother and then come and present your gift.

In all cases of illegal possessions, whether for an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any kind of lost item, about which someone says‘ This belongs to me,’ the matter of the two of them will come before the judges, and the one whom the judges declare guilty must repay double to his neighbor.

Then you will call out, and the LORD will respond; you will cry out, and he will reply,‘ Here I am.’ You must remove the burdensome yoke from among you and stop pointing fingers and speaking sinfully.
