或是受膏的祭司犯了罪，使百姓陷在罪里，他就当为自己所犯的罪，把没有残疾的公牛犊献给耶和华为赎罪祭。他要把公牛牵到会幕的门口，在耶和华面前按手在牛的头上，把牛宰于耶和华面前。受膏的祭司要取些公牛的血，带到会幕那里。祭司要把手指蘸在血中，在耶和华面前对着圣所的幔子弹血七次，又要把一些血抹在会幕内，耶和华面前香坛的四个翘角上，再把公牛其余的血全倒在会幕门口燔祭坛的底座上；又要取出这头赎罪祭公牛所有的脂肪，就是包着内脏的脂肪和内脏上所有的脂肪，两个肾和肾上的脂肪，即靠近肾两旁的脂肪，以及肝上的网油，连同肾一起取下，正如从平安祭的牛身上所取的，祭司要把这些烧在燔祭坛上。但公牛的皮和所有的肉，以及头、腿、内脏、粪，就是全公牛，要搬到营外清洁的地方倒灰之处，放在柴上用火焚烧。“以色列全会众若犯了错，在任何事上犯了一条耶和华所吩咐的禁令，而有了罪，会众看不出这隐藏的事；他们一知道犯了罪，就要献一头公牛犊为赎罪祭，牵它到会幕前。会众的长老要在耶和华面前按手在公牛的头上，把牛宰于耶和华面前。受膏的祭司要取些公牛的血，带到会幕那里。祭司要用手指蘸一些血，在耶和华面前对着幔子弹七次，又要把一些血抹在会幕内，耶和华面前坛的四个翘角上，再把其余的血全倒在会幕门口燔祭坛的底座上。他要取出公牛所有的脂肪，烧在坛上。他要处理这牛，正如处理那头赎罪祭的公牛一样，他要如此去做。祭司要为他们赎罪，他们就蒙赦免。他要把牛搬到营外烧了，像烧前一头公牛一样；这是会众的赎罪祭。

看哪，这祭牲的血没有拿到圣所里去！你们应当照我所吩咐的，在圣所里吃这祭肉。”

因为牲畜的血被大祭司带入至圣所作赎罪祭，牲畜的体却在营外烧掉。

作赎罪祭的公牛和作赎罪祭的公山羊的血被带入圣所赎罪之后，就要把这牛羊搬到营外，皮、肉、粪都用火焚烧。焚烧的人要洗衣服，用水洗身，然后才可以回到营里。”

但现在基督已经来到，作了已实现的美事的大祭司，经过那更大更全备的帐幕，不是人手所造，也不是属于这世界的；他不用山羊和牛犊的血，而是用自己的血，只一次进入至圣所就获得了永远的赎罪。
