因為基督也曾一次為你們的罪死了，就是義的代替不義的，為要領你們到神面前。就肉體的方面說，他曾死去；就靈的方面說，他復活了；

有新約的中保耶穌，還有他所灑的血。這血所傳的信息比亞伯的血所傳的更美。

我們眾人都如羊走迷了路，各人偏行己路；耶和華卻把我們眾人的罪孽，都歸在他身上。

照樣，他也必使多國的人驚異（按照《馬索拉文本》，“他也必使多國的人驚異”作“他必灑許多國的民”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯），君王要因他閉口不言，因為從未向他們述說過的事，他們必看見；他們從未聽過的，他們要明白。

就是照著父神的預知蒙揀選，藉著聖靈得成聖潔，因而順服，並且被耶穌基督的血灑過的人。願恩惠平安多多地加給你們。

但恩賞和過犯是截然不同的；如果因著那一人的過犯，眾人都死了，神的恩典和這一人耶穌基督在恩典裡的賞賜，對眾人就更加豐盛了。這賞賜和那一人犯罪的後果也是不同的；因為審判是由一人而來，以致定罪，恩賞卻由許多過犯而來，以致稱義。如果因著那一人的過犯，死就因那一人而掌權，那些蒙豐富的恩典並且得公義為賞賜的，就更要因這一位耶穌基督在生命中掌權了。這樣看來，因一次的過犯，所有人都被定罪；照樣，因一次的義行，所有人都被稱義得生命了。因著那一人的悖逆，眾人就被列為罪人；照樣，因著這一人的順服，眾人也被列為義人了。律法的出現，是要叫過犯增多；然而罪在哪裡增多，恩典就更加增多了。罪藉著死掌權；照樣，恩典也藉著義掌權，使人藉著我們的主耶穌基督進入永生。

神使那無罪的替我們成為有罪的，使我們在他裡面成為神的義。

“人的供物若是作平安祭，如果獻的是牛，必須在耶和華面前獻一頭沒有殘疾的公牛或母牛；他要按手在他的供物的頭上，在會幕門口宰殺牠；亞倫子孫作祭司的，要把血潑在祭壇的四周。他要從平安祭中奉上獻給耶和華的火祭，就是把遮蓋內臟的脂肪，和內臟上的一切脂肪，兩腎和腎上近腰旁的脂肪，和腎旁的肝葉，一起取下。亞倫的子孫要把這些放在祭壇炭火上的木柴上面，在燔祭上焚燒，作獻給耶和華馨香的火祭。

他受了生命之苦以後，必看見光明，並且心滿意足；我的義僕必使許多人因認識他而得稱為義，他也必背負他們的罪孽。所以，我要使他與偉大的人同分，他必與強盛的均分擄物，因為他把自己的性命傾倒，以致於死。他被列在罪犯之中，卻擔當了多人的罪，又為罪犯代求。

當我們還軟弱的時候，基督就照所定的日期，為不敬虔的人死了。為義人死，是少有的；為好人死，或有敢作的；唯有基督在我們還作罪人的時候為我們死，神對我們的愛就在此顯明了。所以，我們現在既然因他的血稱義，就更要藉著他免受神的忿怒。我們作仇敵的時候，尚且藉著神兒子的死與他復和，既然復和了，就更要因他的生得救了！不但這樣，我們現在已經藉著我們的主耶穌基督與神復和，也藉著他以神為榮。
