Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.

Five of you will chase 100. And 100 of you will chase 10,000. You will kill your enemies with your swords.

Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

是以爾中之人、一可驅千、蓋爾之上帝耶和華助爾以戰、踐其前言。

敵攻爾時、耶和華必敗之、其始攻爾也、必合一處而來、及其敗也、必分七途而遁。

如其上帝弗鬻之、如耶和華未棄之、則一可襲千、二可驅萬。

約押弟亞庇篩在次三傑中為魁、持戈殺三百人、故在三傑中夙著名譽。

傑士之名臚列如左、武士之魁、哈門人耶說班揮戈殺三百人。

時值夜半、守營者初易其班、其田與從者百人至營外、吹角破甕。三隊亦吹角破甕、左執炬、右執角、呼云、耶和華及其田之刃。各立其所、當敵營之四周、敵呼而遁。

大闢曰、爾侮以色列族上帝之軍旅、爾來迎我、執利劍、用干戈、我來迎爾、恃萬有之主耶和華。今日耶和華以爾付於我手、我將擊爾、斬爾首級、以爾眾之尸骸、給於飛鳥走獸、使天下億兆咸知、以色列族有上帝。亦使斯大會知耶和華救人、非藉劍戟、其使人獲勝者、乃任意以行、將付爾於我手。非利士人進、欲迎大闢、大闢疾趨、欲迎非利士人。探囊取石、以繩發之、擊非利士人、深入顙際、遂仆於地。如是大闢以繩發石、擊非利士人而殺之、手不持刃。向前而趨、踐非利士人之身、拔刃出鞘、斬其首級。非利士眾見英武者已死、則潰而奔。以色列族、猶大人、並起、鼓譟追襲敵眾、入谷至於以革倫邑門、非利士人見殺者、尸橫沙勑音道、延至迦特以革倫。

莫叛耶和華、莫畏斯土之民、我得耶和華庇佑、彼無所扞衛、必為我並吞、故勿危懼、

約拿單謂持兵之少者曰、敵不受割禮、盍適彼汛、庶幾耶和華祐我、蓋耶和華欲援我民、眾寡俱可用也。持兵之士曰、盍往哉、爾所欲為、任意以行、我與爾有同心焉。約拿單曰、我儕二人由此至彼、使彼觀瞻。如彼曰、爾曹勿動、以俟我至。則我仍駐於己所、不往迎之。如彼曰、爾可來此、我則前往、耶和華將以之付於我手、此可為徵。二人遂出、使非利士人觀瞻。非利士人曰、希百來人素匿於巢穴、今已出矣。汛人告於約拿單及其持兵之士曰、爾可至此、我將示爾一事。約拿單告持兵之士曰、汝可相從、耶和華以彼付於以色列族手。約拿單攀巖而上、持兵之士隨焉。敵為約拿單所擊、仆於其前、持兵之士從而戮之。約拿單與持兵之士、始戮敵眾、約二十人、在半畝之間。敵之軍旅、以及鄉民、防禦之兵、流亡之寇、無不戰慄、地亦震動、上帝使之。在便雅憫之其庇亞、掃羅之戍卒、見敵軍漸散。

則其仇敵、余必敗之甚速、則其寇讎、予必擊之弗緩兮、使逆我之輩、強歸附予、我之選民、永膺多福兮。
