其中約押弟雅比篩為首、嘗揮戈擊斃三百人、遂在三人中得名譽、

其人如左、哈革摩尼人雅朔班、為諸將之首、一時揮戈擊斃三百人、

時值中更之初、甫易守營、基甸與從者百人至營隅、吹角破瓶、三隊亦吹角破瓶、左手執炬、右手執角而吹、呼曰、耶和華與基甸之刃、各立其所、環營四周、全軍潰亂、呼號而遁、

大衛曰、爾來迎我、以劍與槍及戟、我來迎爾、以萬軍耶和華之名、即爾所侮以色列軍旅之上帝、今日耶和華必付爾於我手、我必擊爾、斬爾首級、以非利士軍旅之屍、給於空中之鳥、野間之獸、使天下咸知以色列中有上帝、亦使此會咸知耶和華施行拯救、非以劍以槍、蓋戰事屬於耶和華、彼必付爾於我手、非利士人進迎大衛、大衛亦向行伍疾趨迎之、以手探囊取石、以繩發之、擊非利士人、深入其顙、遂仆於地、如是大衛以繩與石、勝非利士人、擊而殺之、手不持劍、遂趨而前、立於非利士人身側、拔其劍出鞘殺之、斬其首級、非利士人見其勇士已死、則遁、以色列與猶大人並起、鼓譟而追、至於該、及以革倫邑門、非利士人被創者、仆於沙拉音道、延至迦特與以革倫、

勿叛耶和華、勿畏其地之民、彼無扞衛、必為我食、耶和華與我偕、勿懼之、

約拿單謂執兵之少者曰、我儕往未受割者之汛、庶耶和華祐我、蓋耶和華施行拯救、不在人之眾寡也、執兵者曰、隨爾心欲行之、往哉、我與爾有同志焉、約拿單曰、我儕過彼、使彼見之、如彼曰、俟我至爾、我則佇立、不往就之、如彼曰、爾其上而就我、此為我徵、我則前往、蓋耶和華付之於我手、二人使非利士戍卒見之、非利士人曰、希伯來人出所匿之穴矣、戍卒謂約拿單及執兵者曰、汝其至此、我有一事示爾、約拿單告執兵者曰、隨我而上、耶和華付之於以色列人手矣、約拿單攀援而登、執兵者隨之、敵仆於約拿單前、執兵者從而戮之、二人在半畝之地、始殺之人、約二十、於是在營在田、庶民戍卒掠者、無不戰慄、地亦震動、致其戰慄特甚、在便雅憫之基比亞、掃羅之戍卒、見敵軍漸銷亂竄、

我則速制其仇、反手以攻其敵兮、憾耶和華者必屈服、我民其永存兮、
