我依其逆行、散之於敵國、後若其剛愎之心、剛愎之心或作不淨之心自卑以服罪、

which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies— then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin,

What you did made me become your enemy. I let your enemies take you into their land. But suppose you stop being stubborn. You stop being proud. And you pay for your sin.

so that I walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies— if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled and they make amends for their iniquity,

When I have turned their hostility back on them and brought them to the land of their enemies, then at last their stubborn hearts will be humbled, and they will pay for their sins.

When you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in both heart and flesh, to occupy My sanctuary, you defiled My temple while you offered My food— the fat and the blood. You broke My covenant by all your detestable practices.

“ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit; as your ancestors did, so do you.

“ The days are coming”— the Lord’s declaration—“ when I will punish all the circumcised yet uncircumcised:Egypt, Judah, Edom, the Ammonites, Moab, and all the inhabitants of the desert who clip the hair on their temples. All these nations are uncircumcised, and the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.”

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord; remove the foreskin of your hearts, men of Judah and residents of Jerusalem. Otherwise, My wrath will break out like fire and burn with no one to extinguish it because of your evil deeds.

So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said,“ Yahweh is righteous.”When the Lord saw that they had humbled themselves, the Lord’s message came to Shemaiah:“ They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them but will grant them a little deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.

Who can I speak to and give such a warning that they will listen? Look, their ear is uncircumcised, so they cannot pay attention. See, the word of the Lord has become contemptible to them— they find no pleasure in it.

The Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love Him with all your heart and all your soul so that you will live.

You were also circumcised in Him with a circumcision not done with hands, by putting off the body of flesh, in the circumcision of the Messiah.

For we are the circumcision, the ones who serve by the Spirit of God, boast in Christ Jesus, and do not put confidence in the flesh—

“ Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? I will not bring the disaster during his lifetime, because he has humbled himself before Me. I will bring the disaster on his house during his son’s lifetime.”

Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart— he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem— so the Lord’s wrath didn’t come on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

There you will remember your ways and all your deeds that you have defiled yourselves with, and you will loathe yourselves for all the evil things you have done.

When he was in distress, he sought the favor of Yahweh his God and earnestly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.He prayed to Him, so He heard his petition and granted his request, and brought him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom. So Manasseh came to know that Yahweh is God.

But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, double-minded people!Be miserable and mourn and weep. Your laughter must change to mourning and your joy to sorrow.

Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but this day public shame belongs to us: the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel— those who are near and those who are far, in all the countries where You have dispersed them because of the disloyalty they have shown toward You.Lord, public shame belongs to us, our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.Compassion and forgiveness belong to the Lord our God, though we have rebelled against Himand have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following His instructions that He set before us through His servants the prophets.All Israel has broken Your law and turned away, refusing to obey You. The promised curse written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, has been poured out on us because we have sinned against Him.He has carried out His words that He spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing on us so great a disaster that nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever been done under all of heaven.Just as it is written in the law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not appeased the Lord our God by turning from our iniquities and paying attention to Your truth.So the Lord kept the disaster in mind and brought it on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in all He has done. But we have not obeyed Him.

But he did not humble himself before the Lord like his father Manasseh humbled himself; instead, Amon increased his guilt.

Lord God of Israel, You are righteous, for we survive as a remnant today. Here we are before You with our guilt, though no one can stand in Your presence because of this.

I am speechless; I do not open my mouth because of what You have done.

Listen, my God, and hear. Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city called by Your name. For we are not presenting our petitions before You based on our righteous acts, but based on Your abundant compassion.Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and act! My God, for Your own sake, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.

In the same way, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time,

For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh.On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart— by the Spirit, not the letter. That man’s praise is not from men but from God.

You are righteous concerning all that has come on us, because You have acted faithfully, while we have acted wickedly.

After all that has happened to us because of our evil deeds and terrible guilt— though You, our God, have punished us less than our sins deserve and have allowed us to survive—

For I am conscious of my rebellion, and my sin is always before me.Against You— You alone— I have sinned and done this evil in Your sight. So You are right when You pass sentence; You are blameless when You judge.

His prayer and how God granted his request, and all his sin and unfaithfulness and the sites where he built high places and set up Asherah poles and carved images before he humbled himself, they are written in the Records of Hozai.

I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

When Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord’s anger turned away from him, and He did not destroy him completely. Besides that, conditions were good in Judah.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith working through love.

So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and told him,“ This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may worship Me.

“ This is what the Lord God says: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, may enter My sanctuary, not even a foreigner who is among the Israelites.

Then your survivors will remember Me among the nations where they are taken captive, how I was crushed by their promiscuous hearts that turned away from Me and by their eyes that lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves because of the evil things they did, their detestable practices of every kind.
